In plain English

What happened
On October 15, 2026, OpenAI rolled out a new ChatGPT Voice model called GPT-Live-1.1 with new voices in French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Mexican Spanish, plus an English voice named Bubbie. The same update removed the fixed cap on how many Sites — simple web pages built inside ChatGPT — Plus and Pro accounts can create, though usage and storage limits still apply.
Why it matters to your business
A business owner using ChatGPT Sites to put up a menu, a booking page or a seasonal offer no longer has to worry about hitting a hard cap on how many pages they keep around. The new voice accents matter less for most businesses day to day, but they're worth two minutes to check if staff use ChatGPT Voice for drafting scripts or talking through ideas in a second language.
Do this
Open ChatGPT, go to Settings, then Voice, and try one of the new accents to see if it fits how the team actually uses it.

OpenAI's ChatGPT release notes for October 15, 2026 cover two changes that land on Plus and Pro accounts rather than headline features. The voice model update brings GPT-Live-1.1 and a smaller companion model called GPT-Live-1.1 Quip into ChatGPT Voice, along with a wider set of accents.

The new voices cover French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Mexican Spanish, plus a new English voice named Bubbie. OpenAI's notes say Live now uses more varied short phrases to tell you it's searching for something, rather than the same stock line every time.

How to try a new voice

  1. 1

    Open ChatGPT settings

On desktop or mobile, open the app and tap your account menu, then Settings.

  2. 2

    Go to Voice

Select Voice from the settings list, then tap Voice again to open the picker.

  3. 3

    Preview the new options

Scroll through the available accents. Not every voice will show up for every account, since OpenAI says availability varies by region.

  4. 4

Pick one and test it on a real task

Use it for something you'd actually do — drafting a quick reply, talking through a to-do list — rather than a one-off demo, to see if the accent and pacing work for you.

For Plus and Pro accounts, there is no longer a fixed limit on the number of ChatGPT Sites you can create, though usage and storage limits still apply.

What changed with Sites

Sites is the feature that lets a ChatGPT conversation turn into a simple published web page — useful for a one-off landing page, a seasonal menu, or a quick booking form. Plus and Pro accounts previously ran into a fixed cap on how many of these pages could exist at once; that cap is gone as of this update.

Storage and usage limits still apply, so this isn't unlimited in every sense — a business building dozens of pages a month could still run into a ceiling on space or activity. But for someone who keeps a handful of Sites around for different promotions or locations, the fixed-number worry is off the table.

Reality check

Both changes apply to Plus and Pro plans specifically; the release notes don't mention Free or Go accounts getting either update. Voice availability also varies by region and account on top of that, so checking Settings is the only way to know what actually shows up for a given business, rather than assuming the new options are there.

Neither change requires any setup beyond checking a menu. The Sites change is automatic for eligible accounts, and the new voices appear in the same picker that already existed.
